Education Qualification :-
A candidate shall possess:-
- (i)Bachelor’s degree obtained from any of the Universities established or incorporated by or
under the Central or state Act in India.
or
- any other educational institution recognized as
such or declared to be deemed university under section 3 of the University Grant Commission
Act, 1956
or
- possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government; A candidate
who has appeared or intend to appear or awaiting result of final semester/year of the required
qualification, can apply, but the candidate has to qualify and submit the required qualification
as advertised before the last date of submitting application for mains examination - (ii)the basic knowledge of computer application prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services
Classification as Recruitment(General) Rules-1967;and - (iii) Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

- Dissertation (10 marks)
- Summaries, Letters, Translations (Gujarati-English & English-Gujarati) (40 marks)
- Gujarati Grammar (Objective) (20 marks)
- Computer Fundamentals (Objective) (20 marks)
- Paper 2: Shorthand Test (100 marks)
- Dictation of a Gujarati passage at 90 wpm for 4 minutes
